I am so proud and honored to say I planned and designed this wedding- it was unique in every way. And I have my amazing bride to thank for her loads of inspiration, strict rules and faith. Every single detail of this wedding was handmade or painted- and in some cases by the bride’s father himself! All of it was green, recyclable/reuseable and custom made. Every detail had meaning!
This was an enormous amount of work but worth every second of effort and not only for the out come but for the pleasure of the bride’s reaction, the groom’s happiness and their amazing families full of love and warmth. And these two might just be the most beautiful couple I have ever seen in my life!
First the boutonnieres! Hand made from live succulents and clay fiddlehead ferns, the grooms favorite!
The kippahs were hand crocheted by the bride’s sister- giving an amazing little gift to each guest.
The chuppah was made, yes made, by the bride’s super talented father. I added a little faux ivy, not my favorite product but it was green and reusable which was a stead fast rule of this event. For the canopy we used a hand crochet table cloth made for the bride’s paternal grandmother- the same canopy used at the bride’s sister’s wedding. The chuppah was designed so it would not sag in the center and covered the couple in a dome of love and legacy.
The centerpieces were different for sure! The bride loves geometric shapes, gold painted animals, thrift store finds and topiaries! She loves gold and pomegranate pink! And his name is Green! With this as inspiration – I made these for them… The red oak slices were cut from a fallen tree in PA, the little topiary cages were made by the bride’s father, the animals, vases and bamboo polls were hand painted. And the shapes were handmade by a nice lady on Etsy.
I think they liked it?
Not my favorite picture of me but hands down my favorite moment of the whole day! And maybe the whole season!
For the catering I enlisted my good friend Steve at Price Caterers. Like every other detail of this event- the food needed to be very specific – kosher, entirely vegetarian and yummy! And gorgeous! It was really perfect!
Everyone danced the afternoon away with loads of love, tears and laughter!
I can’t resist adding my favorite photos of this amazing couple!
Big thanks to the amazing photographer Steven Mark Stauffer!
