I had the fantastic opportunity to throw a 40th birthday party at the famous Ginny’s Supper Club downstairs at Red Rooster Harlem! This space is perfect for a smallish event with great style- you really can’t get cooler or more chic. It’s a sultry room that feels like you’re traveling back in time to the heydays of Harlem.
The guest of honor is a great friend who bought my services at a school benefit with her eye set on a birthday celebration. She wanted a Great Gatsby party with all the trimmings- a great band, all the party swag and lots of champagne pouring! Right up my alley!
For the decorations we did all black and silver with loads of sparkle! The places cards and table numbers were handmade. The centerpieces were simple pillar candles wrapped in silver ribbon and set on mirror squares giving the rooms a warm glow. Mixed in and across each table were tons of party swag- gloves, pearls, hats and boas! So simple and so AWESOME!
The guests came ready to get into the roaring 1920s spirit! Even me!
And a great band! Svetlana & The Delancey Five doesn’t sound like a Harlem style band but WOW do they swing! This tight band brings a BIG sound and lots of energy- they were perfect!
Thank you to Erica at Ginny’s for your super staff and always bringing your a-game to everything you do!
And thank you, Gennady for asking me to throw this great party for your fab lady!
Happy Birthday Gorgeous Lady!
