This was my sixth year co-chairing the Brotherhood Synagogue Spring Schools Benefit! This year was fantastic, fun and we raised a ton of money for the three schools of the Brotherhood Synagogue on Gramercy Park! Yay!
Our theme was the Jewish diaspora- we decorated with maps and globes, ate an international menu of yummies and danced to a 6-piece live Afro-Cuban jazz band- it was a blast!
For the decor I made three “chandeliers” out of different globe beach balls, pompoms, lanterns and led string lights- cheap and totally fantastic. The pillars in the room were wrapped in lights and ocean blue organza. For the centerpieces we made terrariums, which were also available for purchase.
The food came from Pride Caterers, who celebrated their 8th year with the Brotherhood Spring Benefit! Everyone agreed Steve and Marty out did themselves this year!
We grooved to the amazing tunes of Sonido Isleño, a local NYC Afro-Cuban jazz band- they were outstanding! Everyone loved it! The teachers even started dancing!
In case you thought for a second that this huge benefit was done single handedly, this is the rest of the team- without whom this undertaking could not have been done!
Thank you to Kari Otero of Mrs. O Photography for (as ALWAYS) taking the best pictures!
